WINNIPEG – RCMP say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that killed a 28-year-old Manitoba man.
Friends and family on Facebook identify the man as Andrew Bernat.
Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy posted on it’s Facebook page, “We lost an amazing man last night, our best friend Andrew Bernat. While many of you know he worked here, he did so much more than that. Andrew did everything remotely related to a computer in this place and he was great at it… He will forever be remembered as a LEGEND in the 2012 Dauphin Lake Flood and 2013 Ice Destruction, where he helped to save multiple homes. Andrew could be counted on to do everything and more. Most importantly he had a big heart and always wore a smile. In memory of Andrew, live life like him; to the fullest, always with a smile, always with love and always putting those in need first.”
Bernat died after his snowmobile collided into another around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
RCMP said the collision happened on a trail near Rainbow Beach in the R.M. of Ochre River.
A 27-year-old man was also rushed to hospital.
He remains in stable condition.
RCMP continue to investigate.
